Cartea E usor sa te iubesc, aparuta la Editura Epica, este o capodopera. O poveste plina de gingasie si maturitate, sensibilitate si seriozitate, emotie. O carte in care poate multi adolescenti se regasesc. Dar in acelasi timp este o carte care poate fi citita la toate varstele: adolescentul se regaseste, persoana matura si adulta isi aminteste.
Ne-ati incantat sufletele cu aceasta poveste, nu credeam ca vom trai o asemenea emotie. Nu cred ca exista cititor caruia sa-i nu fi placut E usor sa te iubesc. Toti cititorii au avut acelasi cuvinte de spus: Minunata!
Asteptam cu nerabdare si urmatoarele carti, care probabil vor avea acelasi impact major asupra sufletelor noastre.

 The book Easy, which appeared at the Publishing House Epica is a masterpiece. A story full of tenderness and maturity, sensitivity and seriousness, emotion. A book in which maybe many teenagers find themselves. At the same time, it’s a book that can be read at all ages: the teenager finds himself, the mature and adult person remembers.
You’ve delighted our souls with this story, we didn’t think that we’d live such an emotion. I don’t think there is a reader who didn’t like Easy. All readers said the same thing: Wonderful!
We are looking forward to the next books, which will probably have the same major impact on our souls.

1. De ce genul Young adult? Ce v-a facut sa abordati acest gen?
Why the Young adult genre? What made you approach this genre?

Mi-am luat cursul de literatura Young Adult pentru gradul meu de Engleza, iar copilul meu cel mare a inceput sa citeasca literatura la acel moment. Cand am absolvit, am inceput sa lucrez ca si consilier al studentilor la Universitate. Crearea de povesti despre personajele din acest grup de varsta am simtit-o ca o potrivire foarte naturala pentru mine.

I took a Young Adult literature course for my English degree, and my oldest kids were beginning to read YA at the time. When I graduated, I began work as an undergraduate advisor at the university. Creating stories about characters in this age group felt like a very natural fit for me.

2. Cum, sau de unde va vin ideeile pentru subiectele din cartile dvs? Ce va inspira?
How or where do you get the ideas for the subjects of your books? What inspires you?

Mi s-a mai pus aceasta intrebare inainte, si nu stiu sigur cum sa raspund. Totul m-a inspirat- problemele din viata reala, lucruri pe care le-am citit/auzit la stiri, lucruri care mi s-au intamplat mie sau prietenilor, cunostintelor. Totul.

I’ve had this question before, and I’m not sure how to answer it. Everything inspires me – real life issues, things I read/hear in the news, things that happened to me or friends, relative, acquaintances. Everything.

3. Multe din cititoare s-au identificat cu Jaqueline o tanara plina de sensibilitate, si majoritatea l-am adorat pe Lucas. Va identificati cu aceste personaje, sau poate cineva apropiat dvs, se identifica cu ei?
Many of the female readers identified themselves with Jacqueline, a very sensitive young woman, and most of us adored Lucas. Do you identify yourself with these characters or perhaps someone close to you identifies himself with them?

Povestile lor sunt foarte diferite fata de ale mele, dar exista cu siguranta acolo unele emotii prin care am trecut. Am fost agresata sexual de un coleg de clasa (Universitate) cand aveam 22 ani. (Nu a fost un Lucas pentru mine). Am renuntat la scoala nu dupa mult timp, si nu am spus nimanui despre viol timp de 12 ani. A fost o usurare atat de mare ca in sfarsit sa povestesc cuiva (celui mai bun prieten al meu, Kim- caruia i-am dedicat  E usor sa te iubesc) si sa realizez ca nu a fost vina mea. M-am intors la scoala la varsta de 30 ani ca sa-mi finalizez diploma. Bunicul meu, cel mai minunat om pe care l-am cunoscut, a fost ucis pe veranda din fata casei sale, dar autorul nu a fost niciodata prins. (I-am dedicat Breakable lui. A fost ceva din el in Bunicul lui Landon).

Their stories are very different from mine, but there is definitely some emotional crossover. I was sexually assaulted by a (university) classmate when I was 22. (There was no Lucas for me.) I quit school not long after, and I didn’t tell anyone about the rape for 12 years. It was such a relief to finally tell someone (my best friend, Kim – to whom I dedicated Easy), and to realize that it wasn’t my fault. (I went back to school in my thirties to complete my degree.) My grandfather, the most wonderful man I’ve ever known, was murdered on his front porch, but the perpetrator was never caught. (I dedicated Breakable to him. There was some of him in Landon’s grandpa.)

4. Cartea Breakable, este o continuitate la cartea E usor sa te iubesc? Ne puteti spune cateva cuvinte despre ea? Pe cand in Romania?
Is the book Breakable a sequel to the book Easy? Can you tell us a few words about it? When will it appear in Romania?

Breakable nu este o continuare- este povestea lui Lucas, spusa din perspectiva diferita a lui Landon (varsta 13-18 ani) si Lucas (din prima zi a cursului de economie ce o imparte cu Jacqueline). Nu sunt sigura cand va fi lansata in Romania, dar este tradusa acum (de un prieten minunat de-al meu roman), deci sper ca va fi disponibila cititorilor in curand.

Breakable is not a sequel – it is Lucas’s story, told in alternating perspectives of Landon (age 13-18) and Lucas (from the first day of the economics course he shares with Jacqueline). I’m not sure when it will be released in Romania, but it is being translated now (by a wonderful Romanian friend of mine!), so I hope it will be available to readers soon soon.

5. Ati mai scris si seria: Between the Lines, vom avea placerea sa ne delectam si cu aceste superbe carti? Care este subiectul principal al seriei?
You’ve also written the series: Between the Lines, will we have pleasure to delight ourselves with these marvelous books? Which is the main subject of the series?

Between the Lines este foarte diferita de E usor sa te iubesc sau Breakable. Este mult mai usor de auzit si foarte specifica in spatiu. Povestile care dureaza mai mult de 2 ani sunt centrate in jurul unui grup de actori de la Hollywood in diferite stadii ale carierelor lor. Exista 4 MC’s – 2 baieti si 4 fete, cu varsta intre 17-20 ani in prima carte. Toate cele 4 carti alterneaza intre ele POVs (barbat/femeie).

Between the Lines is very different from Easy and Breakable. It’s more lighthearted and very place specific. The stories, which take place over two years, center around a group of Hollywood actors at various stages of their careers. There are four MCs – two guys and four girls, ages 17-20 in the first book. All four books are alternating POVs (male/female).

6. V-ar placea ca dupa una dintre cartile dvs, sa se faca un film? Si care ar fi aceea? (Sa stiti ca ar fi nemaipomenit daca ar exista si o ecranizare)
Would you like to have a movie made based on one of your books? Which would that be? (It would be great if they were adapted for the cinema).

Multumesc! Sincera sa fiu, planuiesc sa fiu foarte atenta daca voi fi abordata de Hollywood pentru o intelegere de film. Fiul meu este actor in Los Angeles (a absolvit Universitatea din New York- Tisch in New York acum cativa ani) si am cativa prieteni autori ale caror carti au fost optiuni pentru filme, deci stiu destul cat sa fiu reticenta la ce se intampla cand o carte devine film. Paraseste controlul autorului- nu sunt sigura ca vreau sa se intample asta la E usor sa te iubesc. Povestea este foarte importanta pentru mine. Prefer mai degraba ca niciodata sa nu fie facut un film dupa carte, decat sa fie facut inacceptabil.

Thank you! To be honest, I plan to be very careful if approached by Hollywood for a film deal. My son is an actor in Los Angeles (he graduated from NYU – Tisch in New York several years ago), and I have several author friends whose books have been optioned for film, so I know just enough to be apprehensive of what happens when a book becomes a movie. It leaves the author’s control – and I’m not sure I’d want that to happen to Easy. The story is too important to me. I’d prefer it to never be made into a film than to have it made unacceptably.

7. Va plac animalele si aveti patru pisicute. Care sunt numele lor si cum le-ati ales? (Ca si un detaliu picant pentru iubitorii cartilor dvs)
You like pets and you have four kittens. What are their names and how did you choose them? (Like a juicy detail for the readers of your books)

Numele lor sunt: Turtle, Moose, Nala și Lola. Toate sunt pisicute salvate. Turtle este cea mai batrana. Am adoptat-o de la medicul meu veterinar- a fost gasita gestanta si pe jumatate moarta de foame in adapostul lor. Ei au ingrijit-o si s-au straduit sa-i gaseasca un adapost. Eu doar ce-mi pierdusem pisica de 17 ani si voiam o alta companie. Am adus-o acasa si s-a ascuns imediat sub pat timp de 3 saptamani. Iesea afara si ne arunca cate o privire (ca o testoasa in carapacea ei), dar nu a iesit regulat in prima luna. Am adoptat-o pe Nala ca prietena pentru Turtle. Am numit-o asa pentru ca alearga foarte repede – ca leoaica din Regele Leu. Copiii mei au fost cu mine si voiau un pisoi (Lala deja crescuse) si asa l-am luat pe Moose de asemenea. Era foarte pufos si mic pentru un pisoi, dar este un barbat foarte alpha. Toate lumea credea ca este femela, asa ca i-am pus un nume masculin. El este copilul meu din cei 4. Fiul meu cel mic si cu mine am adoptat-o pe Lola in cele din urma, care este cu capul in nori, si care ii seamana putin, cred. Sotul meu la acel moment a spus: „Destule pisici!”

They are: Turtle, Moose, Nala and Lola. They are all rescue kitties. Turtle is oldest. I adopted her from my veterinarian – she was found pregnant and half-starved in their parking lot. They nursed her to health and endeavored to find a home for her. I had just lost my 17-year-old cat and wanted another companion. I brought her home and she promptly hid under the bed for 3 weeks! She would peek out and watch us (like a turtle in her shell), but she didn’t come out regularly for the first month. I adopted Nala as a friend for Turtle. She was named because she runs very fast and was a little huntress – like the lioness from Lion King. My kids were with me and they wanted a kitten (Nala was already grown), so we got Moose, too. He was very fluffy and small for a boy kitty, but he is very alpha male, lol. Everyone always thinks he’s a girl – so I gave him a manly name. He’s my baby of the four of them. My youngest son and I adopted Lola last, who is very airheaded and just looked like a Lola to him, I guess. My husband, at that point, said, “Enough! Cats!”

8. Aveti in proiect si alte carti? Cum vedeti viitorul scriitoarei Tammara Webber?
Do you also have other books in mind? How do you picture the future of the writer Tammara Webber?

Am si alte carti in minte. Lucrez la una acum. Nu am idee de ce imi rezerva viitorul. Daca as fi incercat acum 5 ani sa ghicesc ce fac acum, ar fi fost FOARTE gresit. Sper ca mereu voi fi capabila sa scriu povesti. Este lucrul meu preferat.

I do have other books in mind. I’m working on one now. I have no idea what the future holds for me. If I’d tried to guess five years ago what I would be doing now, I would have been VERY wrong. I hope I’m always able to tell stories. It’s my favorite thing to do.

9. Cateva cuvinte pentru cititorii site-ului nostru si in general pentru cititorii care va iubesc.
A few words for the readers of our site and generally for the readers who love you.

Voi sunteti incredibili. Cand am inceput sa primesc mailuri de la cititorii romani care citisera E usor sa te iubesc in engleza si o voiau tradusa pentru prietenii lor care nu vorbeau engleza, i-am rugat sa ma ajute cu un editor roman. Si au facut-o! Daca vreodata voi avea ocazia sa revizitez Europa, sper sa pot vizita si Romania. Se pare ca este o tara frumoasa, si mi-ar placea sa-i intalnesc pe oamenii de acolo care mi-au sprijinit si promovat cartile.

You guys are so incredible. When I began to get emails from Romanian readers who’d read Easy in English and wanted it translated for their non-English-speaking friends, I asked them to please help me get a Romanian publisher. And they DID IT! If I’m ever able to revisit Europe, I hope I can visit Romania. It looks like a beautiful country, and I’d love to meet the people there who’ve supported my books.
